See ginger run

The decision to run a half marathon came from my bucket list: travel to Israel, win a pie eating contest, run a half marathon etc. I read about Revel and how beautiful and fast and, well, downhill the course was and finally decided that it was time.

FOMO and 2 weeks to go!

Two of my favorite fall events are either going on right now or happening this coming weekend – the Utah State Fair and the Park City Balloon Festival, and I am super bummed to say that I will probably miss both of them! I love them so much, but I also have to admit that being 8 1/2 months pregnant is taking it’s toll on my body. As much fun as I have waddling around these days, I probably better take it easy and save my energy for chasing my crazy toddler around. BUT, if you aren’t about to have a baby, you should totally check out these fun family-friendly activities this week…

Indoor Rock Climbing at Momentum

The idea of me rock climbing came about when good looking guys mentioned that they rock climbed. I know I’m a smart cookie but in all seriousness I have wanted to rock climb for some time.

Tea is for Tot

In anticipation of Baby Girl’s arrival, my cute mother-in-law treated the ladies in our family to Afternoon Tea at The Grand America Hotel for a sweet, intimate baby shower. For someone who spends their days wearing t-shirts and men’s basketball shorts (I’m in my third trimester, so hardly anything fits theses days, plus it’s like a million degrees outside and I’m chasing a toddler around), I secretly love all things fancy and wish it was a normal thing for adults to play dress-up. There are so many reasons why I love hiking as a family and why I hope to establish a tradition of fun family hikes as our family grows and gets older…

Neighborhood Gelato

I spent a few weeks gorging gelato in Italy when I was in college, and since then I haven’t been able to feel the same way about ice cream. Don’t get me wrong, ice cream is good, but gelato is just better…

Happy Mother’s Day to Mother Earth

Last year, the husband noticed that our neighbors were growing purple tomatillos in their garden. They gave him a few to take home, and he has been obsessing over them ever since. Like, seriously, he talks about them almost once a week. But where might you buy such a variety as purple tomatillos to plant? Our cute neighbors will tell you that the best place is at the annual Wasatch Community Garden plant sale, which happens every Mother’s Day Weekend…
