I have a confession to make and at times it’s hard even for me to believe. I actually planned my wedding before Pinterest. Yes, I know, I know. Back in the olden days of 2008. How did I do it? What was it like to plan what would be one of the biggest days of my life without an endless visual stream of chiffon and mason jars turned centerpieces right at my fingertips? Well, it was tough. It meant a book full of loose snippets taken from a hundred wedding magazines that were overflowing in my dresser drawer. I did it, and in a way I wear it as a badge of honor.
But am I going to plan my new bathroom without it? Cue five minutes of manic laughter. Of course not, that would just be ridiculous. I have had boards filled with bathroom ideas long before we actually bought this house. I frequently (and annoyingly) send Ginger random bathroom pics as often as possible.
We have finally, FINALLY, purchased a house in a neighborhood that I adore and because we went for location, location, location, we need to put some sweat equity into this house to make it what we need. The basement felt a little like a fun house with a room within a room on one side, and a huge room with three doors that led to the same unfinished room behind it on the other side. I think the Mad Hatter planned this basement. So my husband has been reconfiguring it and part of that means building a whole new bathroom.
The design direction we are going for this house is industrial/modern farmhouse. Industrial/modern for him and farmhouse for me. It’s a win win. So as the bathroom walls have been going up, I have been searching for inspiration. These are my favorite Pinterest finds so far:
What do you think about these bathrooms? There is something unique and wonderful about each of these and they are serving as my design inspiration for our project. I can’t wait for our big reveal, which will happen (hopefully) within the next few months! I am going to sound off so I can get back to picking out tile….
