My Favorite White Noise App for Trips

One of our most used baby shower gifts is our blessed noise-maker. This thing has seriously been a lifesaver. It helps Titan know when it’s time to wind down and sleep and it helps him sleep through any small noises we might make (and sometimes big noises). The one downside is that to keep the cord safe and away from tiny hands, we have it on and through a bookshelf, which makes it a ridiculous struggle to take it out and bring it with us on trips.

THUS the saving grace of my new best friend, the FREE “White Noise” app.

Three Whims: My Favorite Free White Noise App for Trips

We just use one of our phones to play white noise through nap-times and during the night, but you could also always put it on an old phone or an iPod or iPad etc.

Titan’s noise of choice is “ocean,” but there are dozens of other options. You can even create your own noise (I’m not going to pretend that the husband and I didn’t stay up late one night laughing and making up our own weird noises, like the eight-year-olds that we are).

Of course, there are little ads at the bottom (because it’s free), but I honestly can’t say how much I love this app, and the fact that it results in this:

What are your favorite apps for your kiddos?

Loooove his face smashed into the side! I just bought a rain sounds song off iTunes and play that over my old iPhone – works a treat! Wish I had known about this free app though!
