A Winter Swim

I think winter is out to get me. It keeps getting colder and more miserable, and I have a toddler to entertain. All day. Every day. So after brainstorming on how to beat these winter blues (and get some energy out of my little monster, to boot) the husband and I decided to take a trip to a nearby aquatic center.

This was Titan’s face when we walked in and saw the indoor pool facility.

Three Whims: Winter cure for toddlers = indoor swimming!

He was in complete awe, haha. I mean, it lasted long enough for me to pull out my phone and snap a pic!

It felt a little pricey for my tight budget, but we played for hours and went down the big slide at least a million times, so I can confidently say that we got our moneys worth.

Okay, I am not even exaggerating when I say that this was one of my favorite days ever. Titan was in toddler heaven. Constant laughter and pleas for “again, again.” I, for one, cannot wait to go back!

Some things I would suggest before rushing out the door to get to the pool are:

  1. Look up the place ahead of time to find out the temperature of the room and water if you can (temperature will make all the difference to your experience)
  2. Bring water and snacks for your little ones (even if you have to eat it in the lobby and not by the pool)
  3. Bring a life-jackets for little ones (we didn’t think about this, but luckily they had spare ones we could borrow, which completely saved us)
  4. Don’t forget sunscreen (JUST KIDDING – you’re indoors)

SOPHIE LOVES SWIMMING!!! So I’m definitely gonna take her while Steve is at work! In fact, I’m surprised I haven’t taken her since her lessons end… I think we may have to go tomorrow!
